About the Artist
Mr. Haywood Green is an artist and designer from Orlando, Florida. He is a current member of the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, an organization that provides homeless services and outreach programs to men, women and children. During Hilton Grand Vacation’s 2013 Global Week of Service, Mr. Green led and directed a group of volunteers in painting a stunning 40-foot mural within the Coalition’s campus. The mural is an overall representation of hope, persistence, determination and inspiration.
The Global Week of Service
The Hilton Worldwide second-annual Global Week of Service resulted in the completion of more than 2,400 volunteer projects in over 700 cities in 72 countries throughout the month of October. Committed to serving our community, Hilton Grand Vacations team members were successful in completing 26 service projects, eight of which were here in Central Florida.
On October 7, more than 125 Hilton Grand Vacations team members came together to launch the Global Week of Service by spending the day volunteering at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. In addition to painting the 40-foot mural, tasks were divided among ten teams and included assembling play and exercise equipment, landscaping, enhancing onsite transitional housing interiors, tutoring support for residents, stuffing hygiene bags and more.
